Level Four Goals


1. Play 2 repertory pieces from memory.

2. Play all major and harmonic minor scales up and down 2 octaves with correct fingering and in a steady tempo.

3. Play melodic minor scales in these keys: cm, dm, em, gm, am

4. Establish a key by playing a simple block-chord cadence (I-IV-I-V7-I).

5. Play root position triads on any give note: major, minor, augmented, diminished.

6. Harmonize a melody using primary chords and secondary dominants.

7. Transpose one line (RH or LH) of a simple piece up/down a half/whole step.

8. Improvise a melody and simple accompaniment over a given chord progression.

9. Play a hymn or patriotic song using the music.

10. Sight read a simple piece.
