I. Secure location of monthly meetings. Steinway Gallery of Nashville has been very generous in offering the facilities of their recital hall. The Vise President should contact Bill Metcalfe (president of Steinway Gallery) on a yearly basis to ask for the continued use of their facility. Request a thank-you note from the Corresponding Secretary be sent to Steinway Gallery expressing NAMTA's appreciation for their generosity.
II. Preside at NAMTA meetings in the event the President is unable to attend.
III. Plan and coordinate educational programs for each meeting.
A. Programs should last approx. one hour and include such topics as:
1. student recitals
2. teacher performances
3. lecture/recitals
4. the teaching of literature
5. lectures by authoritative speakers
6. panel discussions
7. etc.
IV. At least once a year, plan an all-day program/workshop.
A. Programs should be by nationally recognized professionals such as:
1. artists
2. teachers
3. educators
4. composers
5. etc.B. Programs could be coordinated with other music organizations.
V. Insure that all event information is submitted to the NAMTA NEWS. Include bios and any other pertinent information about artists/clinicians.
VI. The term "Program Chair" implies that a committee may be appointed to facilitate the program activities. This can be an ad hoc committee of NAMTA members and the membership does not have to be reviewed or approved by a membership vote. Possible members could be chairs of specific NAMTA Committees such as:
A . Group Instruction
B. Theory Auditions
C. Performance Auditions
D. Public Relations
E. etc.
VII. Send a list of programs for the year along with dates and a short description of each to the NAMTA News editor and President by August 15.
VIII. Coordinate with the Treasurer to prepare a check for program leaders (guest speakers, workshop leaders, etc.).
IX. Coordinate with the Corresponding Secretary to send thank-you notes to program leaders and others who lead/participate in programs.
X. Attends NAMTA executive board meetings.
